Homemade "Bisquick" Mix
I decided that I wanted to make my own multipurpose baking mix.
Every recipe that I looked up all had little differences, some with salt or sugar or none of either, some with cream of tartar and no baking soda, shortening instead of butter.
I bought a Betty Crocker tight seal container - from Dollarama, and it can hold 11 cups, my food processor can handle 12 cups, but I didn't want to max out anything. So I came up with this recipe:
Ashley's Baking Mix
6 cups flour
3 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp sugar
1 cup shortening
Add to food processor and pulse until mixed together, crumbly looking.
Store in a sealed container in a cool place for up to 3 months.
You don't have to refrigerate it, but you can if you want too.
Next time I will make 2 batches of this.
And I'm not bothering with a picture because it just looks like crumbly flour.
