Cherry Rolls

Someone in the house likes cherry, which is new because I've never made or ate a cherry pie before.
I wanted to do something different and something that would be easy to take to school in a lunch kit.
Of course I went to pinterest with this search. And came up with Cherry Rolls from Jo Cooks - JC's pictures look sooo yummy that I had to make them.

I usually only make cinnamon rolls a couple times a year because I find the whole process long, and I dislike rolling out dough. My hands and wrists just can't take it anymore, so I prayed that this would be worth the pain.
I let the bread maker make the dough for this recipe, dumped it all in and pressed the dough button and walked away, came back and rolled this dough beast out. Slopped the pie filling all over, rolled it up, and sliced it.
Now picking up the sliced pieces was interesting. I had to work fast here because they were so sloppy I didn't think that they would be rolls by the time they made it into the baking dish. This probably had something to do with the fact that I didn't follow JC's dough making instructions - but again, I knew if I had to mix the dough myself, I would have to get someone else to roll the dough out for me - because there's would be no way I could do both.
These baked up beautifully, really they did.
They cooled just slightly before I drizzled a simple icing -sugar-vanilla-milk-  all over the tops of these rolls.
I would make these again for sure.
